Our Nurse Aide/Assistant (CNA) program with Career Preparation equips candidates with the essential skills needed for a rewarding career in healthcare. This program prepares you to pass the New York State (NYS) Nursing Home Nurse Aide Competency Examination and provides a strong foundation for a CNA career.
Upon completion, you’ll be ready for entry-level roles in healthcare settings, including nursing homes and hospitals. In addition to hands-on training and a clinical externship, the program offers 25 hours of career development to enhance job readiness.

Entrance Requirements:
- You need to be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED, TASC)

No High School Diploma or GED:
If you do not have a High School Diploma or G.E.D, you can pass a Free Entrance Exam scheduled by your Admissions Advisor during your appointment.

- While a record does not automatically disqualify you from pursuing this program, it is important to understand facility-specific requirements when planning for employment opportunities.

Basic Duties of a Nurse Aide (CNA)
- Assist with Daily Activities: Help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
- Monitor Health: Observe and report changes in patient conditions to nursing staff.
- Support Nutrition & Hydration: Record food and liquid intake to meet patient needs.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Change bed linens, clean patient areas, and follow infection control procedures.
- Assist with Medical Tasks: Take vital signs and support patients during medical procedures.
